Installation of Ubuntu should be as easy as possible. Despite the efforts of the Ubuntu programmers, however, the beginner can still get lost in the new world of concepts and jargon. For that reason, we at Easy Ubuntu Linux created perhaps the easiest Ubuntu installation guide on the Internet.
That may be helpful, but no online guide is of any use offline. For this reason, we have developed an offline guide to installing Ubuntu. You will need a PDF viewer to view this. While Adobe's Acrobat is the most popular for this, there are others. They differ in features, but all do the job and are free.
To get the guide, right-click on the following link and select either "Save link as" (Firefox), "Save as" (Internet Explorer), or the equivalent in your web browser.

You should note that this guide is for installing the long-term support version of Ubuntu (currently 6.06, Dapper Drake), not the shorter term version (currently 7.04, Feisty Fawn). For installing Ubuntu 7.04, see the summary page at "Installing Ubuntu Linux 7.04: An Overview".
